History: Oishi's family moved out of Tokyo when he was in his second year of highschool, so he and his little sister Shirona had to say goodbye to everything they knew as they moved to the former Imperial Capital, Kyoto. Their father was hired in the Governation, their mother worked as a secretary, and both kids worked hard to get good grades and prepare for college...

Oishi has always been a pretty good cook, but as he started working part-time in a café not too far form his house, he re-discovered his fondness for cooking good meals for himself and his friends - and specially, sweets. The speciality of this particular café was pastries (cakes, cookies, etc.), and as time passed and the owners grew more fond of Oishi, they encouraged him not only to be a good cook, but to actually work in the culinary area. They told him about a very prestigious culinary institute that he could attend, and after discussing it with his family and getting their approval Oishi went there.

He worked hard to become a good chef, dreaming of having his own tea shop. He graduated with flying colors and worked in several restaurants, slowly making his way to the top...

And suddenly, Oishi was thrown in the spotlight. A Kyoto TV station was searching for young cooks to fill as the assistants of a famous TV chef and started holding auditions in the local area. After Shirona brought him a flyer, Oishi decided to give it a try... and was among the two boys and the girl chosen to work next to the celebrity. His apparition was quite the hit, and some months later he was one of the cooks for a local morning show, teaching people once a week to bake cakes, cookies, cupcakes, etc.

Much as he liked cooking, Oishi wasn't sure that he liked his newfound popularity. People in his surroundings doubted that he was really talented, and Oishi knew that his good looks and youth made him the target of mean-spirited comments. Also, at that time he had a very difficult choice to make: he either stayed in Japan or left *everything* to live in the USA with his current girlfriend, an American young woman named Juliet Campbell... who was a gorgeous redhead who looked like a female version of Eiji.

Oishi chose to stay in Japan, unwilling to part from the life he had worked so hard for. He and Juliet broke up, remaining as friends only as she returned to the USA, and Oishi himself decided to start a new chapter in his life. He returned to Tokyo and soon took a job offer from his aunt Akiko (the wife of his uncle Akitaka) who wanted him to work in her famous catering business. He didn't come alone, though; the college-aged Shirona had just been transferred from her community college in Kyoto to a famous private art college in Tokyo, so she was tagging along for his ride.
